The Altus City Attorney moved to Altus in 1975, after graduation from OU Law School, with her attorney husband, Mark Coke. Mark was born and raised in Jackson County and graduated from Eldorado High School. They met in law school. She was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, grew up on a cattle ranch in Osage county, graduated from Shidler High School, and graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Music degree.
Catherine has served as a full-time City Attorney with office at City Hall/ Altus Municipal Complex since 1991. Previously she began working for the City of Altus in 1976 as Assistant City Attorney, left for private practice in 1983, and returned to the City as City Attorney in 1989 on a part-time basis, then in 1991 on a full-time basis to the present. As City Attorney she attends all City Council and Altus Municipal Authority meetings, Board of Adjustment, Altus City Planning Commission and Altus Metropolitan Area Planning Commission meetings, and serves as the City Prosecutor for both the Juvenile Municipal Court and the adult Municipal Court. Professionally, she is a member of the Jackson County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association and is Past President and on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys Association (OAMA). Locally, she has served as a United Way Director, Elder in First Presbyterian Church, and belonged to Beta Mother’s Club, Shortgrass Arts & Humanities Council, Presbyterian Women’s Association, and is member and Past President of MacDowell Club of Allied Arts, and Chapter GQ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Mark and Catherine are members of First Presbyterian Church where she serves since 1988 as the Chancel Choir Director.
Catherine and her husband, Mark, are the parents of a son, Troy, and daughter, Barbara. Troy is the Head Football Coach at Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, Florida and his wife, Michelle is a school teacher. Barbara Reid and her husband, John, are both attorneys in Daytona Beach, Florida.
